Eric Murtha, LICSW

Founder / Psychotherapist

Eric Murtha has spent his career as a therapist understanding and supporting people through difficult life transitions including supporting aging parents, loss of a parent or loved one, a shift in relationship, career change, having a child, retirement, and everything in between.

Eric takes his time to really listen to his clients and help them begin to notice patterns of thinking, emotions, and behavior related to life changes. He believes that during times of stress, loss, or traumatic experience, clients often notice unhelpful patterns of coping often surface making it difficult to feel skillful in situations and ultimately leaving them with a feeling of confusion, overwhelm or feeling "stuck".

He has a deep understanding of the uniqueness of each person and the importance of really understanding their story. Eric will take the time to ask thoughtful questions and create space for the things that matter most to you.

Eric's style of therapy brings a sense of grounding and ease to the therapeutic process. He understands that slowing down and creating a thoughtful plan to show up differently is courageous. Eric will help you find a place of understanding and clarity about your story, your path and what is most important to you as you move forward.

He utilizes strategies from cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, narrative therapy, and mindfulness-based therapy in his work with clients. He also understands impact of trauma on how we experience ourselves and the world around us. He believes that therapy can provide tremendous support in navigating new experiences.
